Life can feel so busy. Between caring for our families, working, homeschooling, managing a home, and keeping up with everyday responsibilities, it can be easy to forget to slow down and simply breathe.
Sometimes we are so focused on getting through the next task that we miss the beautiful little moments God has placed right in front of us.
The quiet moments.
The moments where we can pause, take a deep breath, and remember that we were never meant to carry everything on our own.
God invites us to come to Him, to rest in His presence, and allow Him to refresh our hearts.
“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10
Being still does not always mean having hours of free time or a perfectly quiet house. Sometimes being still looks like five minutes in the morning with your Bible and a cup of coffee. Sometimes it looks like sitting outside and noticing the beauty of God’s creation. Sometimes it looks like writing in your journal, saying a prayer while washing dishes, or simply taking a moment to thank God for the blessings around you.
Small moments with God can make a big difference in our day.
When we intentionally create space to pray, read Scripture, journal, or simply be present, we allow our hearts and minds to be renewed. We are reminded that our worth is not found in how much we accomplish, but in who we are in Christ.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28
Finding quiet moments is also a gift we give to our families.
When we are constantly overwhelmed, stressed, and running on empty, it can affect the atmosphere of our homes. Stress can quickly turn into frustration, impatience, or words spoken out of exhaustion. But when we choose peace, gratitude, and slowing down, we create a home where love and grace can grow.
Peace is contagious.
When we choose to take care of our hearts and spend time with God, we bring a greater sense of calm into our families. Our children notice our patience. Our spouses feel our kindness. Our homes become a reflection of the peace God gives us.
This does not mean every day will be perfect. There will still be busy days, messy moments, and challenges. But even in those moments, we can choose to return to God and allow Him to guide our hearts.
“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts…” — Colossians 3:15
Today, I encourage you to look for the small quiet moments God has already placed in your day. You do not have to wait for the perfect time or a completely peaceful schedule. Start small. Take a few moments to breathe, pray, and remember the goodness of God.
Those small moments can become the moments that refresh your soul.
Three Take-Home Reminders:
1. Make time for God, even in the small moments. You do not need a perfect routine. A few intentional minutes reading Scripture and praying can help reset your heart and focus your day on God.
2. Peace begins within us and flows into our homes. When we slow down, practice gratitude, and allow God to work in our hearts, we create a more peaceful environment for our families.
3. Notice and cherish the little blessings.A beautiful sunset, laughter with your children, a quiet cup of coffee, or time spent outside are reminders of God’s goodness. The small moments often become the memories we treasure most.
May we learn to live slower, love deeper, and recognize the beauty God has placed in each day.
Live beautifully. Live intentionally. Live on purpose.
